Hi, friends! Thanks for stopping by! If you're here, it's probably because you're interested in seeing a petite newborn collection I offer. First things first: I welcome you to take a tour of my newborn photography studio in Houston. Here you will find everything you need for your session from vintage inspired props, timeless wraps, as well as professional lighting, computer, and top of the line gear.

Parent/Family Portion (Sibling included if you have another child)

Once you arrive, we immediately feed baby and go into the session. I will guide you and give you plenty of direction. I have a very hands on approach to newborn photography and am comfortable leading the session so you know exactly what to expect.

Flokati Rug Set Up + Wrapping Style Number One: Potato Pose

Each collection comes with a flokati rug set up. Here is where we do the potato pose. Baby's love this and being wrapped keeps them so happy! Wrapping is a huge part of my newborn style and I urge to ensure this is a good fit for your aestetic preferences.

First Floor Prop: White Classic Bowl

My studio is filled to the brim with classic floor props. I generally find these at antique stores. They lend a vintage tone to your session and ensure the final result is timeless.

The second floor prop can be seen here. As always, if there is a certain floor prop you really like let me know so I may pull this item for your session.

Tootise wrap is the third style of wrapping you'll see in my sessions.

MACRO IMAGES | UP CLOSE + SUPER SWEET DETAILS

The macro portion is always lovely because these up close details are the characteristics that are unique to your baby. These can be lips, nose, ears, toes, hands, etc.

BEAN BAG POSING 

The bean bag portion are the naked, squishy poses you may be familiar with. Each baby likes to be posed differently, however, the following images are the main poses I do with each baby. 

Booking Your Session

A $100 non-refundable retainer and contract secure your appointment on the calendar. These are due immediately. The retainer is applied to any collection of your choice.  Payment plans are available upon request. Your final balance is due the day before your session.

How You Receive Your Digital Images

Following your portrait session, I retouch your images. These are completed in 10-12 business days. You receive a password protected and private gallery that is available to you for immediate download and sharing of your images. Your final gallery will give instructions on how to select the prints that come in your collection. If you are interested in additional products, we may set up an ordering appointment.

Additional Helpful Newborn Session Details:

• I provide all props, accessories, and items for your session. You just bring the baby.
• Studio is located in NW Houston near Barker Cypress & 290 -20 minutes outside the 610 loop
• Sessions take place in the first 14 days of life; my preference is 4-10 days, however.
• Sessions take place 7 days per week, starting at 10 AM
• Collections include high resolution digital files for you to download, share and enjoy
• I am fully vaccinated and insured. I also am formally trained in the custom art of newborn photography and have taken several workshops on newborn handling and safety in additional to professional training for posing, lighting, styling and post processing of your images.

The  session process is simple: you arrive, I photograph the session, retouch the images, and then 10 business days later you receive a private gallery in which you may immediately download and share your gorgeous images! They’re yours to print, share online, etc. Your loved ones may also download the images, too. This is a great option for grandparents who may not live in Houston. I do offer professional prints/products if you’re interested in them, but there is no minimum order. I provide a stress free, easy going experience for new parents.

My Houston Newborn & Baby Portrait Studio is located in Northwest Harris County near 290/Barker Cypress with convenient access to all major highways including 610 loop, U.S. 59, U.S. 90, U.S. 290, Texas 99, Texas 146, Texas 225, Texas 249, Texas 288, Hardy Toll Road, Westpark Tollway and Beltway 8. As a professional newborn photographer, my sessions take place 7 days per week between the hours of 9 AM - 4 PM. Hi there! Good morning! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. My name is Sarah and I'm a Houston Newborn Photographer. I specialize in baby portraits because the first few weeks of life are incredibly special and deserve to be preserved. Because I'm also a Mama to three little girls (Lucy, Emma and Amelia) I recognize all the important emotions and aspects of bringing home a new baby. My portraiture collections preserve the meaningful and are also fully inclusive: while I do include high end, luxury boutique prints & products in all collections, you also receive high resolution retouched digital files, too. We are in the modern age. This way, you walk away with the best of both worlds: digital files to archive your session and prints to grace the walls.

Please allow me to introduce this sweet family! When they came to my studio, baby was 8 pounds, nearly NINE, and so squishy and perfect. I wrapped him an organic, soft textile and spent some time photographing him with his parents; I also include photos of Mom with Baby, Dad with Baby and family, too! These are a joy to document, so while I am a newborn photographer, I also truly adore photographing your families. 

After family, I always focus on baby as baby is the star of the session! I do a large variety of posing, from wrapping, floor props, macro images, and lots of naked posing for parents who request this. I also offering a mini, petite, and full newborn session to fit a variety of budgets. If you are curious, this is a full newborn session, so you will see everything from macro details (which are the up close photos of toes, profile, lips, etc), floor props (usually 2) such as a bucket, crate, bowl, and then several naked poses that are curly and show the new nature of a newborn. :-)

Dapper Little Dude's First Professional Photos | Newborn Photography

Houston Newborn Photographer, Sarah Borchgrevink, specializes in custom posed newborn & family portraiture. She serves Houston as well as the surrounding suburbs.

A brand new baby. As a Houston Newborn Photographer, this makes my heart soar. Photographing the most tiny of clients is truly a joy. The details, styling, and spending the morning  cuddling a sweet little baby is one of my favorite aspects of baby photography. The customized sessions cater to parents seeking a variety of colors, poses, and props. For example, for this cherub's session, we used navy blue, tan, grey and cream. I provide everything you need, except the baby. This includes vintage floor props such as buckets, bowls, or crates. I also provide the wooden floors you see and backdrops to ensure the final product is coheisve with the work you see in my portfolio. I also have a vast array of bonnets, headbands, and organic wraps to adorn you baby's face. While props are minimal, such as the set ups seen here, they are also classic. 40 years from now you want the images to still have timeless yet soulful feeling.

For my time with baby boy, he loved to be wrapped! The wrapping is pretty nifty because it reminds you baby of being in the womb; it helps them "curl" up and feel safe during our session. For 9 months, your baby grew in your belly, so this reminds them of all that they know. A warm room and full tummy makes baby happy, too! This little guy did make me work, though I am very happy with his portraits as they're vintage, rustic, and the light fills his face to highlight his chubby cheeks, button nose, and little lashes.

For the family portion of his newborn session, his parents chose to not participate, so our focus was sibling with baby. While I do include family images in all of my collections I offer, I also understand sometimes parents may not feel photo ready. No worries! That just means more newborn portraits for you. Regardless, I do encourage sibling shots at the very least. Big Brother simply stole my heart! During the session, he sat with me while I posed little brother; he told me all about his teachers at pre-school and we sang some fun songs together, like "The Wheels on the Bus," haha! Big sister told me all about her soccer games and how her team won a game that past weekend. Meeting these sweet children was truly an honor and my heart melted while working with them. The innocence of them is simply pure.
