Howdy, friends! I'm excited you're here! As always, it's wonderful you stopped by. If you're here, you're probably looking forward to reading more details about this sweet baby girl. She visited at around 9 days new and is absolutely a true gem! Her parents booked the popular petite newborn collection, which is a really lovely option for parents who are looking for a little bit of everything. This includes family photos, images of Mom with Baby, Dad with Baby, several custom set ups featuring baby, and more! Custom set ups, if you're wondering, are designed with unique aspects in mind. For instance, I ask myself, "How will this color photograph? Have I used this before? What headbands looks nice with this bucket? How can I ensure the session is unique?" You see - I specialize in newborns, which means 99.99 percent of the sessions I take are new babies. I do take a handful of baby plans/maternity sessions, but I have a succinct focus on tiny, fresh new babies who are 2 weeks or less when they visit.

Fresh, Gorgeous Neutral Baby Boy Session | Meet Jakob

Greetings, friends! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope you're having an awesome day and up to something fun with your family. Today I am at my desk working on business tasks, but I am also excited because a sweet baby girl is coming to my studio in a few hours. For now, however, I'm going to show off this absolutely precious little boy who visited recently. His name is Jakob. At 7 days old, he visited my all white, organic Houston Newborn Photography studio and slept wonderfully for me. He weighed around 7 pounds and loved the cozy wrapping. Here are some of my favorite images of his session.

Jakob's parents were sweet as can be. They chose to not do family images and focus on baby. They selected me petite collection, which offers a wonderful array of images from super cute wrapped portraits, floor props, naked bean bag posing and of course the fantastic macro images that truly capture the unique aspects of your new baby.

Mom relayed she really is a fan of neutrals, however, is not opposed to perhaps a bit of color such as navy blue. They came from The Woodlands, which is just north of Houston, and I made sure their entire session was set up so we could begin on time. 

During their baby session, the little ones love to be wrapped! Parents always marvel at how easily they fall asleep. Moreover, this keeps baby sleep so we can utilize many props and set ups. For example, this enables me to use two floors props. Examples of floor prop choices are buckets, bowls, baskets, crates, boxes, all of which are antique and vintage inspired to reflect my personal tastes. I must note: always research your newborn photographer's portfolio to ensure you're a good fit. :-) I do a lot of color but am not opposed to a neutral session here and there, such as this one. 

Baby Boy has gorgeous skin! He is simply glowing and is the picture of health. His full head of hair, cup lips, button nose, chubby cheeks and sweet smile simply made my heart soar. He also was very curly and fun to pose; I truly like for baby to look as timeless and simple as possible. While newborn photography truly is a custom art, it should look effortless in the final images, despite it being anything but easy. I am formally trained and have taken many workshops on safety, lighting, posing, flow, wrapping and post processing of your images. This is why I take your investment very seriously.

Ahhhh! That sweet, sleepy yawn! These are always favorites of mine since images such as this truly show off the baby and their personality.

Houston Newborn Sessions with Sibling | Welcome Banks

Howdy, friends! Thanks for stopping by. If you follow my portraiture work, you may know I specialize in posed newborn photography. While there are many different styles of baby photos, I really enjoy soulful color schemes and truly vibrant  lighting. This makes your session super special and allows me to show how I see newborns; they deserve to be preserved in the most lovely of ways. This in mind, I offer three collections for parents to peruse. They cater to different budgets. There is a wrapped mini, petite or full. All collections do come with high resolution digital files and of course some nifty heirloom prints since it's important you walk away with a tangible professional product.

Baby boy Banks came to my studio when he was around 2 weeks old. As soon as his mama carried him in, he was sleeping so soundly I almost did not want to wake him! Mom let me help her feed him and get him out of his carrier; holding him close to my chest, I could not help but marvel at what a beautiful baby he is. So sweet, snuggly, and loved to be held. I could have hung out with him all day!

For his session, I used a color scheme reflecting teal, navy blue and grey. His wrapped mini collections also features two floor props and a few different styles of wrapping plus macro images. Here are just a few of my favorite images from his session. Hope you enjoy!

"I live in Cypress, Texas and started my search for the best newborn/child photographer in the area. I came across Sarah's work and immediately fell in love. From my first contact with her up until I received my photos- she was extremely professional and organized.

When the kids and I arrived at her studio (which was extremely nice btw) she had a written plan for our session. I could also tell how passionate she was about her work. I was blown away by our photos when I received them!!!!!! As my Aunt said, "she is a true artist." I will treasure my son's infant photos and our sibling photos forever. I told her she completely outdid herself. She seriously has a gift and I'm incredibly thankful to have worked with her. I would recommend Sarah Borchgrevink Photography over and over again.
