Howdy! Happy Monday to you! I've just finished up a super adorable studio session, so I am at my desk working on edits, contracts, e-mails and of course a blog post showcasing one of the sweetest little ladies I've had in front of my camera! So, if this your first time here you should know my name is Sarah and I'm located in beautiful Houston TX. Yes: that's right - Texas can be pretty in it's own way, haha! My studio is located specifically in the NW area. This is where I photograph all things newborn and it makes my soul sing! Working with my most petite clients is an absolute joy! 

For today's session, I featuring a few of my favorite images from Baby L's full newborn session. Full newborn sessions are a great option for parents who are seeking a little bit of everything from classic and vintage inspired floor props, stunning wrapping of your little cherub, up close macro details of their precious features, and of course sweet, organic and curly posing of them as they're adorned in adorable bonnets and tieback headbands. 

Precious baby L came for a posed newborn session when she was 9 days new and about 6 pounds. 

While I normally use a lot of jewel tones or perhaps richer, vibrant colors, this sweet mama truly wanted a soft, feminine and dainty portrait session reflecting muted pastel tones and even some amazing fresh florals! I have to admit: there's something novel in the idea of a new baby wearing fresh flowers as an adorable crown. I pulled inspiration from my many props and decided on rose pink, cream, ivory, mint, sea foam and antique floor props, seen above.

Being held in Dad's arms is ever so cozy! I like these two poses because they're masculine, yet also tender. They'll always remind you of the time in which baby was so fresh, new and petite that she fit perfectly in your hands. So sweet. 

With this beautiful mama, I posed her so that baby feels close and she can be connected with little one.

I'm happy to introduce a dapper little dude to you today! He came to my studio for a posed newborn session when he was about 9 days new. His sweet parents requested more laid back, natural posing and styling. This made my heart happy because while I do specialize in posed newborn photography, it is important to me the posing look natural and like baby is at ease and comfortable. Mom also requested a neutral color pallet so we stuck to tans, white, grey and more wooden tones. In addition, Mom asked for zero skin retouching so baby would remain as he is. I am always respectful of your editing requests and am happy to accommodate your preferences.

Good afternoon everyone and happy Monday! Today has been great! I've had a few precious newborn babies in my studio, ordered prints, packaged up products, and now I'm settling into my desk for some editing and of course an updated blog. You see, as a photographer, I specialize in the custom art of newborn baby photography. This means I take nearly exclusively newborn sessions so that each baby may have all the attention to detail he or she deserves. My sessions all custom in nature which means I strive to provide unique props, set ups, poses, and a gorgeous gallery of baby portraits you're sure to love. Today's baby who's beautiful face graces my blog is a handsome little fellow named Jax. The session also includes high resolution digital files & some gorgeous heirloom products so you're sure to have stunning fine art prints plus some awesome images to share with loved ones, plus print yourself. 

When Baby Jax came to my studio, he was just under 3 weeks old and about 7 pounds. He slept wonderfully for me and I barely even saw his beautiful eyes! His lashes and sweet cheeks had me oooohing and gushing over him! I adore each and every baby who comes to my studio and I cannot wait to work with each family! I cannot express how much I love newborn photography. That's partly why I specialize in babies: families, especially new parents, deserve a newborn experience in which the photographer is in absolute love with the genre their documenting. For me, that great love is newborns.
