She was quick to reply via email to all my questions, and had great advice on how to make sure our little one snoozed the whole time. She was so gentle and sweet handling our daughter, and she was so fun to talk with while we watched her work! I highly recommend you allow her to pick the color schemes for your baby. We let her pick all the colors and our favorite pictures ended up being with colors I would have never thought to pick! We are definitely hoping to come back for family pictures each year!”

Howdy, friends! I'm excited you're here! As always, it's wonderful you stopped by. If you're here, you're probably looking forward to reading more details about this sweet baby girl. She visited at around 9 days new and is absolutely a true gem! Her parents booked the popular petite newborn collection, which is a really lovely option for parents who are looking for a little bit of everything. This includes family photos, images of Mom with Baby, Dad with Baby, several custom set ups featuring baby, and more! Custom set ups, if you're wondering, are designed with unique aspects in mind. For instance, I ask myself, "How will this color photograph? Have I used this before? What headbands looks nice with this bucket? How can I ensure the session is unique?" You see - I specialize in newborns, which means 99.99 percent of the sessions I take are new babies. I do take a handful of baby plans/maternity sessions, but I have a succinct focus on tiny, fresh new babies who are 2 weeks or less when they visit.

Kate’s Vintage & Organic Cake Smash | Cypress TX Child Portraits

Howdy, friends! Happy Friday, or Fri-yay, as we like to call it in my house, ha! I hope you're having a fantastic day and enjoying the cooler weather we're having. Well, at least for Houston. Today's blog post is going to share a little bit of information about my popular baby plan membership. I'll also showcase some exciting details about the styling behind cake smash and children's one year birthday sessions.

To begin, cake smash or baby milestone sessions are available to newborn clients only. Because I specialize in Houston Newborn Photography, these sessions are really fun for returning clients and a membership to my portraiture services is a wonderful way to document the first year of life since it's a consistent style, editing, wall art, and also someone who has developed a relationship with your kiddo. The membership is very flexible. Parents have the option of doing 3, 6, 9 or 12 months; they may also do any combination of the milestone. The most popular, nonetheless, is 6 and 12 months since this is when most of the changes occur.

Since my newborn style is timeless, fresh, simple and vintage inspired so are my  child milestone sessions. Gone are distracting props; instead, I focus on a few classic pieces so baby is the star. My studio is all white and looks classic. I have a bed, couch, and some cute items like a antique high chair and rocking horse for little ones to use. I also have a plethora of adorable headbands and accessories for your kiddos. Wardrobe is not included but I have a great list of vendors for you to consider. :-)

Dapper Little Dude's First Professional Photos | Newborn Photography

Houston Newborn Photographer, Sarah Borchgrevink, specializes in custom posed newborn & family portraiture. She serves Houston as well as the surrounding suburbs.

A brand new baby. As a Houston Newborn Photographer, this makes my heart soar. Photographing the most tiny of clients is truly a joy. The details, styling, and spending the morning  cuddling a sweet little baby is one of my favorite aspects of baby photography. The customized sessions cater to parents seeking a variety of colors, poses, and props. For example, for this cherub's session, we used navy blue, tan, grey and cream. I provide everything you need, except the baby. This includes vintage floor props such as buckets, bowls, or crates. I also provide the wooden floors you see and backdrops to ensure the final product is coheisve with the work you see in my portfolio. I also have a vast array of bonnets, headbands, and organic wraps to adorn you baby's face. While props are minimal, such as the set ups seen here, they are also classic. 40 years from now you want the images to still have timeless yet soulful feeling.

For my time with baby boy, he loved to be wrapped! The wrapping is pretty nifty because it reminds you baby of being in the womb; it helps them "curl" up and feel safe during our session. For 9 months, your baby grew in your belly, so this reminds them of all that they know. A warm room and full tummy makes baby happy, too! This little guy did make me work, though I am very happy with his portraits as they're vintage, rustic, and the light fills his face to highlight his chubby cheeks, button nose, and little lashes.

For the family portion of his newborn session, his parents chose to not participate, so our focus was sibling with baby. While I do include family images in all of my collections I offer, I also understand sometimes parents may not feel photo ready. No worries! That just means more newborn portraits for you. Regardless, I do encourage sibling shots at the very least. Big Brother simply stole my heart! During the session, he sat with me while I posed little brother; he told me all about his teachers at pre-school and we sang some fun songs together, like "The Wheels on the Bus," haha! Big sister told me all about her soccer games and how her team won a game that past weekend. Meeting these sweet children was truly an honor and my heart melted while working with them. The innocence of them is simply pure.
