Howdy! Happy Monday to you! I've just finished up a super adorable studio session, so I am at my desk working on edits, contracts, e-mails and of course a blog post showcasing one of the sweetest little ladies I've had in front of my camera! So, if this your first time here you should know my name is Sarah and I'm located in beautiful Houston TX. Yes: that's right - Texas can be pretty in it's own way, haha! My studio is located specifically in the NW area. This is where I photograph all things newborn and it makes my soul sing! Working with my most petite clients is an absolute joy! 

For today's session, I featuring a few of my favorite images from Baby L's full newborn session. Full newborn sessions are a great option for parents who are seeking a little bit of everything from classic and vintage inspired floor props, stunning wrapping of your little cherub, up close macro details of their precious features, and of course sweet, organic and curly posing of them as they're adorned in adorable bonnets and tieback headbands. 

Precious baby L came for a posed newborn session when she was 9 days new and about 6 pounds. 

While I normally use a lot of jewel tones or perhaps richer, vibrant colors, this sweet mama truly wanted a soft, feminine and dainty portrait session reflecting muted pastel tones and even some amazing fresh florals! I have to admit: there's something novel in the idea of a new baby wearing fresh flowers as an adorable crown. I pulled inspiration from my many props and decided on rose pink, cream, ivory, mint, sea foam and antique floor props, seen above.

Being held in Dad's arms is ever so cozy! I like these two poses because they're masculine, yet also tender. They'll always remind you of the time in which baby was so fresh, new and petite that she fit perfectly in your hands. So sweet. 

With this beautiful mama, I posed her so that baby feels close and she can be connected with little one.

Baby Brody Rocks His Houston Newborn Photos

Howdy! Greetings and good morning to you, friends. :-) If you're here on my blog, this means you may be excited to check out one of the super precious baby's who have recently visited my studio. Well, you're in luck! Brody ROCKED his posed newborn session. In fact, he was such a superstar, we did a full session in less than 2 hours.

Full sessions, to elaborate, include a variety of set ups from parent images, family photos, many styles of wrapping, macro portraits (up close little precious newborn details), naked shots, bean bag posing, floor props and of course wrapped bean bag images. He slept beautifully for me.

As a newborn photographer, color is my favorite aspect of your session. For this baby boy, I pulled lots of gorgeous hues such as a rich, vibrant teal, hunter green, dark charcoal grey, etc. However, I also did a little bit of neutral so that way, there's something soft and organic intertwined within your final collection. 

All collections *do* come with two floor props so these are always truly fun to do. There's nothing as sweet as a baby's little face in a bucket. This bucket, moreover, is one of my favorite props since it can be used for a girl or boy! All I do is style it differently depending on gender. 

This wooden box is also a favorite of mine since it fits almost every single baby! I also like this style of wrapping called "tootsie" since their adorable little toes are popping out! So precious. I kept marveling at how sweet Brody is. His parents are truly blessed. He is beyond loved, treasured and adored. 

I always end my newborn sessions with a "tucked in" shot. After this, I send you home and I look forward to retouching your final copies. As noted, all collections include high resolution retouched digital files, released printing rights, and a handful of professional prints to ensure you walk away with something tangible to grace your walls.

Dapper Little Dude's First Professional Photos | Newborn Photography

A brand new baby. As a Houston Newborn Photographer, this makes my heart soar. Photographing the most tiny of clients is truly a joy. The details, styling, and spending the morning  cuddling a sweet little baby is one of my favorite aspects of baby photography. The customized sessions cater to parents seeking a variety of colors, poses, and props. For example, for this cherub's session, we used navy blue, tan, grey and cream. I provide everything you need, except the baby. This includes vintage floor props such as buckets, bowls, or crates. I also provide the wooden floors you see and backdrops to ensure the final product is coheisve with the work you see in my portfolio. I also have a vast array of bonnets, headbands, and organic wraps to adorn you baby's face. While props are minimal, such as the set ups seen here, they are also classic. 40 years from now you want the images to still have timeless yet soulful feeling.

For my time with baby boy, he loved to be wrapped! The wrapping is pretty nifty because it reminds you baby of being in the womb; it helps them "curl" up and feel safe during our session. For 9 months, your baby grew in your belly, so this reminds them of all that they know. A warm room and full tummy makes baby happy, too! This little guy did make me work, though I am very happy with his portraits as they're vintage, rustic, and the light fills his face to highlight his chubby cheeks, button nose, and little lashes.

For the family portion of his newborn session, his parents chose to not participate, so our focus was sibling with baby. While I do include family images in all of my collections I offer, I also understand sometimes parents may not feel photo ready. No worries! That just means more newborn portraits for you. Regardless, I do encourage sibling shots at the very least. Big Brother simply stole my heart! During the session, he sat with me while I posed little brother; he told me all about his teachers at pre-school and we sang some fun songs together, like "The Wheels on the Bus," haha! Big sister told me all about her soccer games and how her team won a game that past weekend. Meeting these sweet children was truly an honor and my heart melted while working with them. The innocence of them is simply pure.
