I first met Avery's parents in July. A very sweet couple contacted me for a family session. While I adore working with Houston families and children, this portrait session was especially important because they were submitting an application to adopt a baby. I eagerly sent their final copies off and sent all my positive vibes their way. You see, while I am a photographer, I also am a Mama to three little girls. They are the essence of my heart. I know what it means to be a mother. 

A few months later, the couple contacted me to let me know they were coming home with a precious baby girl! I was thrilled to document their newborn session and spent more time than I should admit double checking colors, props, and ensuring they would love each and every single image of their time with me. We chose soft mints, blush, apricot and blush pink. Cream also is an accent color to tie everything in perfectly. She slept like an angel the entire time and I barely saw her eyes. From the moment I picked her up, a sense of peace surrounded the session and I was in my element. Wrapping baby, molding her into beautiful womb-like poses, and adorning her perfect face with beautiful hand-made headbands. It was an honor. Truly an honor to spend the morning with her and her amazing parents.

I look forward to seeing her in 6 months for her sitter session and again at 12 months for her cake smash + one year session. Here are a few of my favorite images!

I have a succinct specialization in custom newborn portraits, outdoor maternity sessions, and fun, modern family photography. For my time with this sensational family, they chose the waterfall location I use. It's located in Cypress, though also has easy access to Tomball Texas or even Katy Texas, thanks to the 99 toll road. Regardless, this location is both timeless and ethereal. The natural tone, greenery and unique stone entry are organic; your pregnancy is meant to be celebrated so this location truly makes your baby bump shine. 

For all of my professional photography collections, family portraits are included. These are absolutely important and your spouse and little ones are part of your story; no session is complete without them. My all inclusive photography investment ensures you walk away with a minimum of 25 high resolution professionally enhanced files as well as archival and impeccable professional prints and products. This in mind, I adore when your family is at your maternity session. While we do focus on your baby bump, we also spend time capturing Mom interacting with Dad, and the little ones being ever so excited about their new sibling. It's that time of the year when outdoor family photography is in full swing. The weather is great (at least for Houston), the light is ethereal, and everyone is gearing up for lovely holiday cards. This in mind, I've had the honor of working with many families this season. As a Houston TX Photographer, this makes my heart sing. Meeting your little ones, hanging out with you, and designing sessions reflecting connection based posing are the heart of my work. I like you to relax. Enjoy yourself. Be who you are. For my time with this sweet family, we used a popular location in Cypress. Their outfits match perfectly with the classic, warm background. The tall trees filter the light ever so softly to give a golden hue. 

My photography philosophy keeps our time together simple and easy. No stress. I give plenty of direction. While it's nice to have some traditional images mixed in, the ones of everyone smiling and looking at the camera, your gallery also looks fantastic when there is more candid, lifestyle set ups. Interacting with your little ones or spouse is a great way to show who you are. These are things you'll want to remember; the way you baby fits on your hip or the weight of your child on your shoulders. Family portrait photography is not about everything looking perfect. It's about preserving a time in your life. Your children are small and there will be a time in the not so distant future where you long to hear their little feet pitter patter down the hall or hear them say, "mama." There's nothing like that, you know - them being small and ever so purposeful in all that they do. When working with you, I keep these things in mind. Parents entrusting me to photograph this time in their lives is the heart of why family portraits are an honor to document.
