Howdy, friends! I'm excited you're here! As always, it's wonderful you stopped by. If you're here, you're probably looking forward to reading more details about this sweet baby girl. She visited at around 9 days new and is absolutely a true gem! Her parents booked the popular petite newborn collection, which is a really lovely option for parents who are looking for a little bit of everything. This includes family photos, images of Mom with Baby, Dad with Baby, several custom set ups featuring baby, and more! Custom set ups, if you're wondering, are designed with unique aspects in mind. For instance, I ask myself, "How will this color photograph? Have I used this before? What headbands looks nice with this bucket? How can I ensure the session is unique?" You see - I specialize in newborns, which means 99.99 percent of the sessions I take are new babies. I do take a handful of baby plans/maternity sessions, but I have a succinct focus on tiny, fresh new babies who are 2 weeks or less when they visit.

Fresh, Gorgeous Neutral Baby Boy Session | Meet Jakob

Greetings, friends! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope you're having an awesome day and up to something fun with your family. Today I am at my desk working on business tasks, but I am also excited because a sweet baby girl is coming to my studio in a few hours. For now, however, I'm going to show off this absolutely precious little boy who visited recently. His name is Jakob. At 7 days old, he visited my all white, organic Houston Newborn Photography studio and slept wonderfully for me. He weighed around 7 pounds and loved the cozy wrapping. Here are some of my favorite images of his session.

Jakob's parents were sweet as can be. They chose to not do family images and focus on baby. They selected me petite collection, which offers a wonderful array of images from super cute wrapped portraits, floor props, naked bean bag posing and of course the fantastic macro images that truly capture the unique aspects of your new baby.

Mom relayed she really is a fan of neutrals, however, is not opposed to perhaps a bit of color such as navy blue. They came from The Woodlands, which is just north of Houston, and I made sure their entire session was set up so we could begin on time. 

During their baby session, the little ones love to be wrapped! Parents always marvel at how easily they fall asleep. Moreover, this keeps baby sleep so we can utilize many props and set ups. For example, this enables me to use two floors props. Examples of floor prop choices are buckets, bowls, baskets, crates, boxes, all of which are antique and vintage inspired to reflect my personal tastes. I must note: always research your newborn photographer's portfolio to ensure you're a good fit. :-) I do a lot of color but am not opposed to a neutral session here and there, such as this one. 

Baby Boy has gorgeous skin! He is simply glowing and is the picture of health. His full head of hair, cup lips, button nose, chubby cheeks and sweet smile simply made my heart soar. He also was very curly and fun to pose; I truly like for baby to look as timeless and simple as possible. While newborn photography truly is a custom art, it should look effortless in the final images, despite it being anything but easy. I am formally trained and have taken many workshops on safety, lighting, posing, flow, wrapping and post processing of your images. This is why I take your investment very seriously.

Ahhhh! That sweet, sleepy yawn! These are always favorites of mine since images such as this truly show off the baby and their personality.

Vibrant Baby Photography in Houston

Timeless, classic and unique custom newborn portraits by Houston Baby Photographer Sarah Borchgrevink. 

Howdy, friends! I'm super excited you're here on the blog today! This is where I share the top images from the newborn, maternity and family sessions I have the honor of documenting! Today's posed newborn session features a darling baby girl. She came to my studio, located in Houston, when she was 7 days fresh and new. 

Her session features some of my favorite colors for little girls such as a vibrant teal, turquoise, maroon, and even a daring mustard! One of my favorite aspects of all your sessions is that everything is provided by me so you simply show up.

Before booking, her sweet parents came to my office to chat in person. We talked about colors, props and ideas for their session. They were the perfect fit so I truly looked forward to seeing them again. Newborn sessions do take place in the first 14 days of life, so I recommend coming in while you're still pregnant to ensure availability. The following are my favorite images from my time with them. They did see 44, so it was a great gallery, but I am just going to show you a handful today. :-) 

Sweet baby girl loved to be wrapped! During my time with her, she even snored a little bit since she was so cozy! These colors look amazing on her! Color is vibrant and soulful; my vintage inspired newborn sessions use classic pieces such as antique props in order to preserve a timeless collection for you. I like green and blue because they're different: unique color schemes set your images apart. And while each newborn photographer has their own point of view on styling, I proudly offer a huge array of colors, bonnets, hats, and more just for you.

For their floor props, mom requested the vintage cradle and antique wooden bucket for her session. These are popular and some of my favorites to use! They typically fit every baby who is anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds!
