Greetings and good morning to you! Welcome to my blog! As a Houston TX Portrait Photographer, I offer a variety of session types such as family, baby, child and newborn. However, I also enjoy coming to your home! For instance, for the lovely family featured today, we chose to do an in home session focusing on their nursery. You see, they are baby plan clients of mine which means they have a membership to my photography services; I photographed their outdoor, natural light maternity session, posed newborn session and today's post shows a few set ups from their in home, lifestyle session for 6 months! I'll also be seeing them again for a 12 month milestone portrait session so that will be a blast.

When photographing a client in their home, I find a room with nice light. The nursery is always a beautiful option because it's the perfect little nest to show your baby's milestones such as standing, crawling, pulling up, rolling, and all their adorable little details such as chubby hands, precious little cheeks, sparking eyes, and their endearing personalities. Little ones are absolutely a joy to document. Seeing them laugh, smile, and interact with the camera is truly rewarding because, as a portraiture artist, I am preserving this incredibly special time in your life. You're not taking these photos for yourself: they're for your children. They see, from the very beginning, all the important aspect of their life. It's a way to honor these milestones.

Dixon, their boxer and beloved pet, also participated in the session! He was also there during our maternity & newborn portion so it's only natural he be included. Pets are certainly part of the family so I always look forward to seeing them again. I distinctly remember how he was super protective of baby when I did their newborn session and even during the 6 month session he tentatively watched me, never leaving my side. He is her best friend!

Greetings and good morning! Happy Friday to you! I hope everyone is gearing up for a fantastic weekend and has many fun things planned with loved ones. Whether it be relaxing, shopping, visiting one of the many awesome Houston attractions, I wish you all my joy! If this is your first time on my blog, welcome! I'm excited you're here! However, if you've been here before you may recognize this absolutely darling family. I first met them during their posed newborn session. Now they're membership clients of mine which means I also have been seen them for an outdoor family session and I'll see them again for another session, too. Three sessions in a 12 month span is a wonderful way to document the milestones your family is experiencing whether it welcoming a new baby home, updating your family portraits or perhaps celebrating a child's first birthday with a cake smash. 

This family is also especially near and dear to my heart because I've immensely enjoyed getting to know them. I cannot express how kind, beautiful and sweet their hearts are and seeing them is an absolute delight! For our time together in this session, we met in gorgeous Cypress TX, which is just Northwest of Houston. For my outdoor family photography, I offer either sunrise or sunset as this is when the light will make you swoon! Mom chose a sunrise session and honestly - I was super impressed because they were also on their way to a child's birthday party in ANOTHER state on that day! Talk about super mom. They arrived, looking beautiful, the kids ever so precious, and right afterwards they were heading out. Anyway, I am always in awe of other mamas and everything they accomplish. Completely inspiring!

Well, howdy to you! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm Sarah Borchgrevink (Bork-grey-veenk), and I'm a Houston TX photographer offering gorgeous portraits you're sure to love. In addition to my outdoor, natural light work, I also have an amazing all white, organic studio you may utilize. My specialty is newborn baby photography, though I also truly enjoy working with growing families and little ones, such as school aged children or toddlers. 

Now that you know a little about me, let's chat about this insanely adorable family! I've worked with them in the past for their sweet son's 6 month session and now little one is one! This milestone is especially fun because it's the age of discovery. However, for this session, our focus is family as everyone needs updated portraits for the walls. 

On the day of our session, it was dark/rainy and a little humid, but we made it work. I try not to reschedule unless we absolutely must and often times, even if the sky is a little dark, we are still able to have a fun, laid back session and ensure you adore the images. Moreover, when booking an outdoor or on location session with me, I provide you with a list of locations to peruse. For this session, we shot in Cypress TX, which is just Northwest of Houston - about 20 minutes outside of the 610 loop for you city dwellers, ha! ;)
