Good morning, y'all! I hope everyone had a wonderful week and is gearing up for the weekend! My weekend is looking pretty laid back; Emma is turning 5 so we'll probably do something low key as her actual birthday party is in a few weeks.
If you follow me or check in regularly, you may know that I do weekly projects and themes with my little ones. This is partly because it helps me grow in a creative aspects, though it's also an interesting way to document the lives of my littles, Emma and Lucy. So often, as parents, we are busy doing a zillion things, so focusing on a theme is something I look forward to.
This week's theme is sibling and play. I love these images because it's about letting them be who they are. The weather was especially nice earlier on. That's a perk of living in Cypress, TX: year around play in the backyard! Ha! ;) For this set up, Emma wanted to have a picnic, so I simply laid a quilt out, placed some toys on the ground, and let them play.
However, as much as I love the nice weather, it can quickly turn sour. :-( This part of the week we ended up just playing inside. Perhaps my favorite element of this image is seeing Emma patiently explaining the toys to Lucy. They are four years apart, though Emma is ever so purposeful in her patience.
Lucy's little hands are so sweet! Small details make me smile. This is when she first started sitting up, so she is still learning to balance!
Interesting fact about Emma: she LOVES dress up clothes! As soon as she comes home from preschool, she runs to her bedroom, strips her "every day" clothing, and prances about in a tutu or something magical (at least to a little girl). She also adores those cowboy boots. She's a Texan!
Now that Lucy is sitting up, I love capturing her smiles and seeing her explore the world. Having two little ones is a blessing!
