Hi, friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog! If you're managed to find your way to my little creative outlet, please know I'm stoked you're here. Welcome! If this is your first visit, I like to tell you a little bit about myself: my name is Sarah! I am a Houston Newborn Photographer specializing in the cutest posed newborn portraiture. However, I do take a handful of outdoor and natural light maternity sessions per month. Today's session focuses on a sweet sunset session featuring a beautiful expecting couple.

When Mom first inquired into a pregnancy photo shoot, I was absolutely delighted to work with her! From the moment we spoke, she was very sweet and easy to chat with. I loved hearing about her life and how excited they are to meet baby boy. Most mothers book their maternity session in the early second trimester. I typically photograph these around 32-36 weeks; sometimes a little sooner, however, if you've "popped" and have a cute bump to show off! My goal is for you to look pregnant but also not feel too uncomfortable yet. As a mama, I am currently pregnant with my own baby and can completely identity with the struggles of being pregnant (though totally worth it for a precious baby, lol). 

My pregnancy portraits take place in outdoor, natural light Houston locations, however, I do have a really pretty studio you may utilize if you prefer an indoor setting. Upon booking, you are presented with several location options and you select your favorite one. The location we're seeing today is in NW Houston, near Cypress TX, and is called my waterfall location. It's timeless and classic, so I enjoy this location because it reflects the type of newborn portraiture I do, too. :-) Most parents who book maternity also book newborn sessions, so you may also be interested in the three newborn collections I offer. During our time together, expect to have fun! We'll spend around 60 minutes or so celebrating your baby bump. I give plenty of direction and positive encouragement so that you feel your best in front of the camera. I will guide you throughout the entire process. I also have a great list of vendors for you to consider if you would like professional hair and make up services or outfit advice. I am here for you every step of the way. :-) 

After your photography session, the next steps are really simple! I offer digital based portrait collections. This means I sell high resolution digital files + a print release so you may print them on your own, share online, etc. While I do offer many beautiful professional products, they are an add on and there is no obligation to purchase. Maternity investment begins at $500 + tax for digital files and (3) 5x7" heirloom deep matte prints of your choice.

10 business days after our session, you receive a password protected digital gallery you may immediately download, share, and enjoy.

Your investment is one flat rate for time, talent, session design, retouching of your high resolution digital files. Following your session, you're presented with a private, password protected gallery that is yours to download, share, enjoy and print on your own.

Gone are the days of formal, stiff or boring posing. Instead, sessions are lifestyle in nature, meaning they're about connecting, feeling natural, and focusing on your spouse or precious baby. As a mama, I can tell you that you will treasure your family images because this is a time when baby is so small, so sweet, so new to the world she literally fits in your hand.

When booking, you're also given a newborn prep guide. It contains all sorts of nifty instructions, information about my Houston Newborn Portrait Studio, outfit suggestions, and also a few suggestions for hair and makeup, should this interest you. I like you to feel fully prepared and know what's going to happen.

Baby Boy John's White Newborn Boy Studio Session 

Greetings! Thanks for visiting my blog where you will find many precious babies! Today's blog post is going to focus on a recent newborn boy photography session. Sweet John visited my studio when he was just over a week old. I had already met his mama because she came in for an in person consult. From the moment I met her, she was super sweet and kind! I knew his parents were a perfect fit. 

His parent relayed they like all things white, fresh, organic and perhaps a little bit of color. While I do use mostly rich, vibrant tones, I do like the look of muted neutrals or clean organic white because it evokes a sense of pure newborn goodness. There's nothing more fresh and new than a brand new baby! 

Darling John weighed 6 pounds and has the most delicate toes. His sweet button nose is my favorite! He also looks especially dashing with a full head of hair.
