As a mama to three little girls, I know a few things about family. The heart of the matter is love, acceptance, and the unconditional bond you have with your tribe - your most special people. This in mind, I carry this thread throughout all the family sessions I photograph. For example, I encourage you to have fun during the session. We laugh and play. I do my best to get to know you so I may best capture your spirit. I hang out with your little ones and make friends with them. The experience is meant to be laid back; when you leave your session, it's important you have had a positive experience.

All of my family photography sessions are held on location, typically in stunning, natural light. I have a lovely list of locations for you to peruse and we photograph you either around sunrise or sunset to ensure the perfect light and setting to forever preserve your family. I also offer several ideas for outfit inspiration so everyone fits together nicely. For example, this lovely bunch chose a location in the Houston Museum District; I adore this spot because it offers both nature and sensational architecture. It's also usually pretty quiet at 7 A.M., when these images were shot. 

This in mind, we spent about half an hour together just hanging out, trying different poses and making sure the little one had fun! Here are a few of my favorite images from my time with them. Howdy, folks and thank you for stopping by my blog this morning! As a Houston photographer and mama, I delight in documenting family sessions. These are a wonderful way to showcase your family and capture a really fun dynamic. This morning I'm previewing a splendid family. For their outdoor session, I had them meet me in Cypress, where I'm currently based. We utilized a lovely location that features a winding dirt and gravel path, mature overhanging trees, and a field with lush grass. This location is ideal for portraits because it is fantastic for both morning and evening, huge bonus! However, their session took place in the evening and I enjoyed my time with them immensely.

My favorite part of their session is the spirit of their little boy, J. Toddlers are ever so purposeful and precious in all that they do! They're committed to the cause, that's for sure. Moreover, often during my time with a family, a young kiddo, such as a toddler, may enjoy exploring and being who they are. This in mind, it's important to let the child be little and not force him or her into anything. As you can see, we had fun with lots of tickles and snuggles and running. Mr. J gave me a work out but he was all smiles! I kept telling Mom how sweet he was and how he brings a smile to my heart to see his joy. Little boys!!

Mr. J had a blast during our time together! His huge smile is perfection. I also adore how mom played with him and just enjoyed her time with her sweet son. Sometimes it feels like your baby will small forever, but before you know it they're hitting a new milestone. Fun, candid photos with natural posing are my favorite aspect of designing a session because I know you will treasure these images; you'll look back on them and your little heart with soar knowing you've preserved the joy, the smiles - the authenticity of your motherhood journey.

Good morning, y'all! Today is absolutely beautiful! I've just finished retouching an adorable cake smash session and now I'm working on today's blog post in which a lovely family is showcased. As a Houston photographer and mama, I know how important family sessions are. Everyone is finally in front of the camera. Because of this, I strive to provide a plethora of beautiful images that reflect connections. I also like to include some formally posed images for grandparents, too. 

For this sweet bunch, I photographed them out of The Woodlands in a local park. Mom specifically liked the bridge and it is close to their home, so I made the trek out from Cypress for them. :-) As you can also see, their outfits are fun! They have a spring feel to them and look both timeless and easy going. When photographing your family, I encourage you to wear attire that represents who you are; it also it nice for it not to be too formal so you can easily move around. For instance, I like to utilize standing, sitting, kneeling and walking set ups so you have a large variety in your final gallery.
