Number 2: The Studio is Fully Vaccinated

As adults who come into daily contact with newborns, the studio takes newborn safety seriously. The three primary vaccines a newborn studio should maintain are (1) Tdap, (2) MMR, and (3) flu vaccine. Staying up to date on these crucial vaccinations protects little ones, such as new babies, as this helps not pass dangerous diseases to vulnerable immune systems.

The studio joyfully showcases fully transparent pricing and package guide, so there are no hidden fees or surprises. The studio offers fully inclusive pricing, which means there are no separate sitting or session fees for obtaining your final product. Our office also does all the proofing online. There is not a single in-person sales appointment, minimum print order, or stipulations in obtaining your full-resolution, retouched digital files of completed images, along with a print release, you may enjoy infinitely. Parents select the package with the number of digital files they would like to receive. All props and styling are provided from start to finish.

Number 5: Online Booking and Scheduling

To provide a modern and convenient booking process for parents, all bookings and schedules are made online through our booking page. The booking page showcases every session type we offer, such as studio maternity, posed newborn, studio family, and even baby milestone sessions for infants. Parents select their package, date, and time from an easy-to-use online calendar. Your deposit of $100 and a portraiture agreement are given through the online booking page. This commissions us as your photographer and secures your appointment. The online booking page also has nifty styling questionnaires, too, and sends text message reminders as well as e-mail reminders, so you're always up to date on your session time. You may expect to follow up e-mails, too, so you're sure of each step in our portraiture process together.

Number 6: Complimentary Studio Tours and Consultations

We also set our business apart through complimentary, easy to schedule studio tours and consultations. Many parents like to tour our office in advance. Moreover, commissioning a photographer is a big decision! We are excited to meet with you and chat further about anything questions you may have. Customer service is of the utmost importance.

Studio tours are 30 minutes long. You are welcome to schedule them seven days per week.

Sarah Borchgrevink Photography is the only newborn, infant, and baby photographer in the Houston area who offers seven days per week scheduling and availability. Business hours are Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Number 8: Motherhood Wardrobe

The studio happily offers a wardrobe for new mothers to consider. Ethereal, light, airy, and timeless pieces accent your session beautifully. Expect to see ivory, creams, whites, and muted colors along with nudes, although there are colorful options, too. These are available in sizes small through 3xl. Ample sister wardrobe is a new addition, too! Available in sizes three months - 8t.

Number 9: Hair and Makeup Airbrush Artistry and Styling

The booking software will have you check ‘yes’ or ‘no’ for hair and makeup styling. If you choose yes, an on-location team of highly qualified and expertly trained artists will visit you, on location, at your home or the studio, if you’re more comfortable. However, the studio recommends home hair and makeup to make things easier for parents of young toddlers and newborn sessions. Annie Williams is our preferred vendor, and the software tells you how to contact her for your glamorous experience.

Aside from being the mommy to four young children, I have taken multiple newborn safety workshops in addition to professional mentoring. These courses train photographers on how to safely and beautifully pose precious babies. Workshop topics also cover editing, lighting, soothing, flow, and strategies and creative methods to provide breathtaking setups and styling. A reputable baby photographer has invested thousands of hours into honing their craft. nUMBER 12: 14 Day Turnaround Proofing Time Year AROUND

• 14 days after your session, an online proofing gallery is delivered to your preferred e-mail address. From the comfort of your home, you select the images included in your package. You see all the fantastic images from our time together and select the number of images that are included in the chosen package. At that time, you have the option to add additional images to your package, though there is no obligation to do so. You also have the option to add professional-grade prints and products for parents seeking the highest quality. Prints and products are ordered through your online gallery and shipped to your home address. The gallery may also be shared with grandparents or other loved ones who may like to see the portraits, too.

• At that time, your selections are professionally edited. Retouching is applied to your chosen images, such as skin smoothing, eye sharpening, teeth whitening, and more! Within three business days, the final edits are completed to ensure your pictures are naturally polished. The gallery is yours to download, share, and treasure forever. Studio sessions, consultations, and gown fittings occur during the hours below. Sarah and Kevin are a husband and wife team with six days/week availability. Sundays are no longer available as our studio's commercial office building is located within stopped offering air conditioning on Sundays in response to COVID-19.

OUTDOOR, ON-LOCATION PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY HOURS

Outdoor sessions (maternity or family) are scheduled outside studio hours at sunrise and 30 minutes before sunset. Baby Boy Quinn

Congratulations to Jessica and Matt! Quinn is such a handsome little fella; weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces he is truly a bundle of joy. He is their first baby and was an absolute joy to photograph as his session reflected a Woodlands Creatures Theme with furry, sweet animal friends. Mom and Dad booked the popular ‘petite’ newborn package, which is ideal for first time parents. This newborn family pose is one of my favorites as hands are on baby and show how sweet, little, and precious they are. Congrats to the L Family! All my joy to you on this new adventure with your beautiful son!

Sweet Sisters | Amal & Mia

The wrapped newborn mini with family add on (an additional $150) is the perfect session for babies who have missed the traditional 14 days or less for scheduling. Amal visited my Houston Baby Portrait Studio at a little over 3 weeks old. Mia, three years old, is the best big sister! Sibling and newborn photography can sometimes be a little spirited, but Mia was a rock star and one of the best big sisters I’ve ever had in studio! For their sibling portion we did two different set ups: one of Amal holding Mia on a white, fluffy flokati rug and another where Mia was in the bucket and she gently kisses and hugs sister.

As you can see, Amal is snugly and posed perfectly in one of the many buckets you’ll find in my studio! Her head full of gorgeous dark hair is adorned with a precious headband. Sibling images will make their mother’s heart soar! What a sweet pair of little girls. I am honored to have worked with them.

The Garcia Family

The Garcia family visited with their brand new little girl, who weighs 9 pounds, such a squish! They chose the full newborn session, which is an amazing option for parents seeking a large variety of images for our time together. Your baby is only small for a few short weeks so sometimes parents will book the largest package to ensure they have as many photos as they could possibly need.

Working with new parents and their earth side babies is an absolute dream! When posing Mom and newborn baby, or dad and their little one, we we use two different backdrops: one is the custom wood wall that is a complete show stopper! The other is the classic white background in my studio featuring gorgeous light that is effortlessly beautiful. Both make for an incredible gallery!

The Wolf Family | Returning Clients

About two years ago I had the honor of visiting their beautiful home for an in home lifestyle newborn session; at the time I was still offering family sessions in my clients’ homes. However, I have since moved to where I specialize in posed newborn photography within a studio setting; this in mind, the Wolf family came to me this time for their images of their second little one, Abby! Big Brother Benjamin is even more precious than the last time I saw him! He was all smiles and full of pride as we photographed the entire family with little sister. Many thanks to the Wolf’s for choosing me a second time. I loved working with you again!

Father and Newborn Son | Favorite Angle

Colt is the a miracle baby (see more of their post here with Love Story of Ashley and Justin). During our full newborn session, Baby Boy is posed in many different setups such as Dad and Baby. I love this angle because it shows all of Baby’s beautiful features as well as the chest of Dad protecting his little one. Colt is also a baby plan client so I worked with Ashley & Justin on their maternity session, newborn session, too, and will also be seeing them for their 6 month sitter and 12 month cake smash and splash session. Featured Natural Light, Outdoor Maternity Session for the Month of June.

Howdy, friends! Today's blog post is all about my favorite pregnancy portraits from the month of June. Ashley and Justin's photo shoot took place in northwest Houston during sunset. It also happened to be Ashley's birthday so it was a fun way to celebrate her that day! Cozy up and get comfy to see highlights from their session + for a little q&a. 

How did you two meet?

We went to rival high schools, but we met in church when we were 15 on the Fourth of July. Later that summer, on Labor Day, we went bowling and started "going out". We've pretty much been together ever since. By the time the baby arrives, we will have been together 19 years (10 years of dating; 9 years of marriage)!

What is a favorite color in Baby's nursery?

The nursery is a monochromatic safari theme, but we did an accent wall in Sherwin Williams Outerspace. It's this dark, dark grayish blue. It's nice because it's a masculine color but it's also very soothing.

What was the first thing Dad did when you two found out you're expecting?

It's hard to remember! It was a shock. Long story short, prior to getting pregnant, we were told I was in premature ovarian failure, and the chances of us conceiving with my eggs was around 5%. We were actually gearing up to start an IVF cycle at the time I found out I was pregnant. It was a BIG but HAPPY surprise. Hopefully Baby Boy won't be our last, but he is definitely our little miracle!

What is Baby's due date?

August 16th

Any pregnancy cravings? Favorite meal?

I like to have vegetarian sushi or the Airstream Salad from Torchy's for lunch. Those are my GOOD cravings. But my most consistent, longest running craving is ice cream. We go to a lot of Astros games, and if you can't have a cold IPA, Bluebell in a cone is the next best thing :) I seriously eat ice cream almost every day. I think it's how I'm surviving the summer heat.

What are you most excited about in terms of being a mom?

To see different traits from my husband, Justin, and myself in our baby. I remember thinking I was nothing like my parents growing up, and now I see parts of my mom and dad's personalities reflected in me ALL the time. And to see his unique personality, what he likes, how he thinks.

Any fur siblings?

We have 2 Toy Australian Shepherds; Rookie, our male that's 2, and Pip, our female that's almost 1. Her birthday is 3 days before the baby's due date, so hopefully she doesn't have to share her special day :)

 What's the first thing you bought for baby?

It's kind of a strange purchase, but I bought these animal prints that I knew I wanted for the nursery. They are gender-neutral, so whether it was a boy or girl, I knew they would work. It was kind of a celebratory purchase once we made it to the 11 week mark and felt we could breathe a little easier.

Do you have any nicknames for your baby bump?

 Since we haven't decided on baby's name just yet, we have quite a few, but probably the funniest nickname came from our niece. She just turned 7, and is really into martial arts / karate, so she watches lots of that stuff on YouTube. From pretty early on, she has called the baby "John Cena". She says if we name him that, he will be the strongest baby in the world. It's kind of hard to argue with that logic! But it's stuck, it's a joke in our family now.
