Last Week in Studio: Little Sitters, Siblings, Parents, and New Arrivals

Offering adorable baby milestone sessions as well as posed newborn photography featuring sibling, parent, and family setups, Sarah shares highlights from last week's sessions! 

Howdy, friends! Today's blog post is a fun one because you get to see last week's sessions + what makes them special. Welcome! Let's get started!

Big Brother Link | Newborn Photography with Sibling

This sweet big brother, named Link, could not have been sweeter during his sibling portion of little sister's newborn session. Link is not even two years old, yet, either, so this is a great posing idea for sibling. These images are included in the "full' newborn collection, but are also available as an add on in every other collection I offer, such as the wrapped mini, bean bag mini, and petite sessions. My favorite part of this setup is how clean and classic all the colors are; I adore timeless and vintage inspired sessions, so the lace headband, ivory wrap, cream flokati rug, and simple white shirt and dark wash jeans are the perfect outfit for a sibling and newborn baby girl setup. Link was especially special to me because he was so tender and soft with his baby sister.

Mia at nearly 3 weeks new

Mia is a brand new arrival who visited my Houston Newborn Baby Portrait Studio at just under 3 weeks old. Her session is special because she's the first baby who's mama booked my brand new session offering, called the newborn wrapped mini! Featuring gorgeous textiles, antique and rustic floor props, and full styling such as bonnets and dainty tiebacks, this is a great option for babies who are 30 days or newer. This is designed for parents seeking just a few stunning and unique images of their new cherub. Grady's Little Sitter Session at 7 Months Old

Handsome Grady absolutely stole my heart! From the moment his mama brought him into the studio, he was all smiles. His captivating blue eyes and strawberry blond hair had me wanting to snuggle him the entire time! We did several setups, 5-6, and really showcased adorable outfits that are available to all of my clients. First time parents Rachel & Brian | Family + Newborn Photography

Rachel and Brian were such a treat to photograph in studio! They visited when their little girl was just under a week old. I was completely impressed with them, too! Mom is a pediatrician and just finished her residency, right when having a new baby! They even were in the middle of closing on their house and moving just a few short days later. Talk about super parents, huh? For their parent portion, Mom wore a stunning blush top that looks lovely against the white light; Dad wore a classic blue button up. Adorned with an ivory wrap and soft, muted pink headband, their little lass is the perfect bundle of joy. Mom and Dad booked the 'petite' option on my pricing guide. This is the perfect collection for first time parents who would like lovely images such as mom with baby, dad with baby, and parents together with baby.

Aria at 7 Days Fresh | New Earth side Arrival

It's no secret that Houston Newborn Photography is my specialty and where I thrive! Nothing gives me as much joy as working with babies who are less than a month old; preserving this time for parents is incredibly rewarding and I cannot believe I call this my full-time job! Parent of being one of the best Houston Newborn Photographers (2016-2018) is offering beautiful setups that are not only unique and timeless but also showcase baby in the most precious of ways! Baby in a bucket is part of every session I do. Aria weighs just over 7 pounds and has a head full of gorgeous dark brown hair. Her tiny fingers, button nose, and sweet lips truly are stunning. Heidi | 8 Days old at 6 pounds

Beautiful Heidi visited at 8 days old and her session featured tons of naked bean bag posing, which was Mom's preference. The main color in her session was aquamarine with teal accents. Her session is special because all of my newborn props are hand-crafted by incredible vendors all over the world! This headband, for instance, is from the UK and is from a great gal called Created by Carli. Her items are impeccable; while they are an investment, they set newborn sessions apart through creativity, unique looks, and also they're dainty and petite. My preference is for all the styling to fit my brand which is rustic, classic, dreamy, timeless. 

Lily Rose | 8 pounds & 7 days old

Lily Rose is a completely gorgeous baby girl! At over 8 pounds, technically nearly 9, she was so squishy and chubby! Her cheeks and beautiful features are perfection! I adore this setup of her, which features cream, ivory, lace, and a wooden rustic bowl because we're able to see her face, hands, toes, and she looks completely at peace. When working with new arrivals, such as precious newborn babies, the sessions are very laid back and serene. Your baby should never be in distress or crying. I have years of experience and pride myself on finishing my sessions in 2 hours or less. 

Baby girl M | Lovely Lilac & Lavender 

Baby girl M came for her newborn session at just over a week old. Weighing 6 pounds and having a breathtaking head full of hair, this little lady was the perfect newborn session! She slept beautifully for me and rocked each and every one of her poses. Her color scheme showcases many purple tones such as lavender and lilac. Soft, muted, classic. The quintessential colors for a dainty little lady! Her session was also a favorite of mine because her parents are long time clients! I've been working with them for years, so it was really fun to catch up with them during their fall family session, Mom's outdoor, natural light maternity session, and then see them again for the posed newborn appointment. 

Michelle & Jeff | Baby Plan Membership Clients

Michelle and Jeff were great to have in studio! On top of being wonderful and sweet, they're also baby plan membership clients with a maternity session add-on. This means they secured an outdoor, natural light pregnancy portraiture session, posed in-studio newborn photos, and I'll also see them for their little girl's 7 month sitter session and even a 12 month cake smash & splash! Good morning, everyone! Today you're in for a treat filled with cuteness because I am previewing 14 adorable families from the 2017 outdoor family fall season. As the season winds down, I am filled with gratitude for the many families who have entrusted me to document their outdoor portrait sessions. Please note if you asked for your photos to remain private or not be previewed, I've kept them under wraps, of course. If this is your first time here, welcome! My name is Sarah! I am a Houston photographer specializing in posed newborn portraits, however, I also take a handful of outdoor maternity or family sessions per month. 

Here are 14 of my favorite images from the 2017 fall season! Hope you enjoy checking out all the cuteness and sweet families!

The Z Family

This sweet family is truly a joy to document! Our session took place at Telge Park during sunrise and they traveled to me from the Heights area of Houston. Mom and Dad are expecting a baby girl in January so you'll see them soon on the blog once baby comes in for her wrapped newborn mini session. This family is favorite of mine because we've done other sessions together, such as a 6 month milestone, too, in studio. I cannot wait to see them again! Here is what they wrote about our time together:

The R Family | Sunset Baby Bump + Maternity

This family is a favorite 2017 fall session of mine because we simply connected. I am also super excited to see them again soon because they're on the calendar for a full posed newborn session in my Houston Baby Studio. They are coming this week with their brand new fresh baby so I cannot wait to document this time for them! Their maternity session took place in one of my favorite outdoor family session locations in Houston; the waterfall! Truly a beautiful expecting couple and I am excited to see them begin their family and parenthood journey. All my joy to this sweet clan and I look forward to our baby session this week. The S Family

The S family is truly magnificent! Not only are their outfits adorable, but they also were a breeze to photograph. They're handsome little boy is about to turn one, so we focused on gorgeous outdoor family photography during sunrise. It was a little chilly during our time together, but it was a great reprieve from the warm Houston heat we typically have year around. We photographed their session in Cypress, TX near 290 and Telge. Mom's dress is also perfect! Here's what they relayed about their experience:

"Our family photos came out absolutely stunning. We got some beautiful lighting and Sarah was extremely comforting and enthusiastic during shooting.
I had wanted some very early morning bright light and it ended up being a little shadier than we wanted but she made the lighting beautiful nonetheless.
The turnaround time is amazing. And I will be purchasing prints from her in the future as well ; she sent me some sample prints and the quality is much nicer than a photo shop would be. I need to hurry up and get my frames!"

The S Family

The S family is a favorite of mine from fall 2017 because we simply had a great time during our outdoor sunset session in Houston! When these photos were taken, Mom was just a few weeks pregnant and they also booked a petite posed newborn collection with me, so stay tuned: their baby is arriving in March and you'll be seeing them on the blog again! Here is what Mom expressed about their session outcome:

The S Family

The S family is near and dear to me because they've always been so kind to me. I first met them when mom inquired into an outdoor, natural light maternity & posed newborn session when she was pregnant with little boy. Once baby turned one, she booked an outdoor family photography session in Cypress, TX for sunrise. Here's what Mom said about their session:

"Sarah has done both our newborn posed session and a first year family session. I have ABSOLUTELY LOVED every single picture she has taken and produced. The S family is a favorite 2017 fall outdoor family photography session because I felt like it was a great chance to work on something new. Most of my clients have really young children, so working with older "tweens" was a great way to expand my portfolio and type of family posing I've encountered. The Z Family + Nolan Turns One

The Z family is a favorite of mine because they're extremely kind, warm and just completely lovely! For instance, I first met them over a year ago when they booked a posed newborn collection for their sweet little boy, Nolan. When Mom contacted me to book an outdoor first year session, I could not wait to see them again! Their session took place in NW Houston near 290/Fry and we began at sunrise for some lovely, soft light. Here's what these sweet parents had to say about their session:

"Sarah is amazing! She did our newborn session and my son's 1st birthday session and I cannot say enough about her. She makes the sessions so fun and exciting and easy. Her work is flawless and she is so flexible and professional. She helps you throughout the whole process from getting ready for the session to your final selection of the pictures. The P Family

The P family is a gem! I originally met them at an outdoor maternity session which took place in downtown Houston at the lovely Buffalo Bayou and then they invited for to also do a posed newborn session for them. When they booked an outdoor family session, I was thrilled to see them again! We did a sunrise session in honor of their darling little girl turning the big one. Here's what Mom had to say about their experience with working with Sarah:

"Sarah is amazing to work with! She is incredibly professional and talented and is adamant that her clients receive the utmost best care start to finish. She listens to all your needs and adjusts all while making sure she maintains the highest possible photographic quality and products! Her patience is hard to come by and she doesn't settle for less than the best photos she can possibly take. She did maternity and newborn pictures for us and they are awesome but most of all; she is amazing with little bitty babies and keeping them happy during their session! We have the cutest pictures and can't wait to hang up the beautiful prints and canvas work she helped us select for the nursery! Can't wait to do more work with her in the future!"

The B Family | Brody is 6 Months New

The B family is the best! Not only do they drive all the way from Waller, TX, they also are just fantastic as can be because they're super laid back, easy going, and have the most stunning little boy named Brody. I first met them at their posed newborn session, though they're also booked for a 6 month session and a 12 month session, so you'll see more of them on the blog soon. Their session took place in Houston during sunset in one of my favorite fields. Here's what Mom wrote about their experience:

"I couldn't be happier with the way our newborn session turned out. The experience in the studio was wonderful. Sarah is super sweet and is a true professional when handling newborns. The final results were amazing, I wanted every picture! I highly recommend Sarah!"

The S Family

The S family is always a favorite! I first met their sweet kiddos during their lifestyle in home newborn session. While I am not currently offering lifestyle family newborn photography, as I have moved to posed in studio only, I adored working out of their home and capturing this time for them. They also chose a baby plan membership, which means we did both a 6 month milestone session + family photos and of course an adorable cake smash session. The H Family

The H Family is favorite of mine because we've had many sessions together! They originally booked for a posed newborn session, however, they quickly moved over to a baby plan membership, featuring 6 and 12 month photos. Now little one is 18 months old and it was a joy to catch up and see them again. The B Family 

This darling family is favorite of mine because they're sweet as can be! Truly the most wonderful, gracious, kind people. They make my heart so happy because when I work with them, they're just easy as can be, trust me during the session design, and also are completely in love. For instance, during their posed newborn session, I was completely enraptured as Dad told me the adorable way he proposed (with a kitten!) and how he made Mom's ring. It is an honor to have hung out with them and I look forward to seeing baby for a 12 month session. When working together, here's a Google review Mom left, and it's super kind!

"Wow!! I am so glad I found Sarah, she not only captured the most amazing photographs of our sweet baby, but she is such an amazing person as well. She made sure we all felt comfortable with everything that was going on, which is nice. The W Family

The W Family is always a joy to see! We first met during their posed newborn baby session and they traveled into Houston from beautiful Spring, TX. They are truly a gorgeous family and I always adore chatting with them! I hope to see them for a 12 month session, however, their outdoor fall family photos took place right when baby turned 6 months so such a treat! Here is what Mom relayed about their newborn session.

"We recently did a new born photo shoot for our 8 day old son. From the moment we walked in the door she was so sweet and gentle with our baby, Sarah is very personable and makes you feel very comfortable for the couple hours that you are there for. Our baby slept almost the entire session, the room was kept nice and warm for the baby and the props and colors she chose were cute and perfect. The price for the packages were very reasonable for the amount of time and care she takes with your little one! We Highly recommend her for anyone looking for great, perfectly posed newborn photos!"
