Good morning, everyone! As always, thank you for stopping by my blog this morning to peruse the latest session that graces my website. I always appreciate you taking the time to view what I'm working on these days. In fact, the more newborns I photograph, the more I'm confident that they're my favorite subjects and I will be further specializing in them over the next few years.
However, enough about me: let's talk about this beautiful baby girl I recently had in front of my camera. She is perfect. Hands down. From her soft tufts of hair, to button nose; her little fingers and tiny nails. I cannot express how in awe of her beauty I am! For her session, I used a little bit of color, such as the soft blues and mints, though I also wanted to remain true to my love of cream and soft neutral hues, such as this set up here. I love the "curly" shots of baby wrapped; these are my favorite to do! Tucking their little legs up and folding their hands, ever so gently, is the heart of your newborn when they're growing in your tummy. They love this and I usually start my sessions like this so baby feels safe and secure.
After the first set up, I begin with floor props. If you've ever read my blog, you know I provide everything from start to finish; clients have full access to my huge stash of custom and organic props. I love picking up a new antique box, such as the one below, or ordering an ethereal, handmade tie back, seen below as well. Paired with soft textiles and rustic wood floors, this makes for a timeless and vintage newborn baby photography session!
She is so squishy! My assistant and I spent a great deal of time warming up the room, feeding her a nice, big bottle and snuggling her before we began the bean bag portion. Her little cheeks make my heart swoon! And that nose - so cute! I used an neutral colored wrap for this portion to surround baby with a soft femininity but without overpowering the image.
For the final portion of this newborn portrait session, I utilized a blue I have on hand. Little girls can look so nice against the powder blue! This is the "chin in hands" pose and she loved it; being on her tummy was her favorite. I paired this soft blue with a daisy tie back for a spring time feel.
Of course, I must preview some of the family images from this in home, on location newborn session. Big Sister was such a helper here! The sibling and family images are included in each newborn session. My sessions are all inclusive up front so there is no additional investment for these.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'd love to have you on my calendar. Here are some helpful tips.
