Greetings! Good morning to you. Thanks for stopping by! My name is Sarah and I'm a Houston TX Maternity & Newborn Photographer. I am a full service photography studio offering the best of both worlds: gorgeous outdoor maternity photography and a stunning, all white & organic studio for my clients to utilize. I'm excited to preview this beautiful on location maternity session that took place in Northwest Houston.

This glowing mother to be is simply ethereal! About a year ago, she contacted me to book a portrait membership to my professional photography services. At the time, she was not even pregnant, though she told me her and the hubby were trying for a baby and she wanted to gather all information about my custom photography so that when the time came they could plan for investment. This is completely humbling because while I do run a full time business that feeds my family, I'm a mom, and when I'm not shooting, I'm all about family and being with my own husband and kiddos. Basically, I'm just in the suburbs trying to keep it real, haha! This in mind, when a client books before she's even pregnant, it makes me realize exactly how special these sessions are because they preserve the meaningful. 

The membership to Sarah Borchgrevink Photography includes either a studio or outdoor maternity session, a posed newborn session, a sitter or 6 month session and of course a 12 month session. The payments are made in installments. You receive fantastic products such as an heirloom signature album though you always have some nifty digital files so you may share on Facebook or with loved ones. 

For our time together, we used a gorgeous location in Cypress TX. It's very popular and not at all a hidden gem, though many parents request the waterfall for maternity portraits. All of my sessions that are outdoors begin as the sun is setting. This ensures optimal light and fantastic photos! I also help you with outfits and can refer you to an amazing hair and make up artist who is just around the corner. :-) And of course, I lead the entire session, guiding you to ensure you're posed perfectly and we showcase the treasured bonds and connections between an expecting couple. 

This couple is clearly in love! The entire time they kept me laughing, smiling, and were a true joy to spend the evening with! They are carefree and will be wonderful parents to their baby girl. She's arriving in May, so I am looking forward to meeting her!

As you may (or may not) know I’m Sarah. I’m a Houston TX Photographer specializing in all things family portraiture and newborn babies. This means, in a nutshell, I have a succinct focus on the familial milestones in your life: this includes pregnancy portraiture for expecting couples and mothers to be, bringing home a new baby, or even child milestones sessions. I also offer a very popular maternity and newborn combination plan, which I’ll be previewing for you now.

You see: I believe parents deserve the best of both worlds. High resolution retouched files and the most exclusive and luxurious prints and products that are only available to professional photographers, such as myself. And by 'professional' I mean legal, insured, and running a legitimate tax paying business. : - )

When booking a maternity and newborn combination package with Sarah Borchgrevink Photography, you receive your choice of either an outdoor sunrise or sunset portrait session and also a stunning newborn session. Newborn sessions take place in my absolutely breathtaking studio that’s all white and organic. However, for clients interested in an in home session, I do offer lifestyle newborn sessions so these are an option, too.

An in person consultation also takes place. This is the part where we go over the fine details of your contract, chat about newborn safety, and we also go over locations, outfits, hair and makeup ideas, and perhaps the type of products you’d like to see in your home. It’s customer service driven from beginning to end. I adore working with you and want you to have an awesome experience!

After each session, we schedule a fantastic ordering appointment. While you do receive impeccably retouched high resolution digital files, you also receive a plethora of boutique products. Trust me: the paper is amazing. You won’t want to give me back the samples, ha! Your products are immediately ordered, too, so they may grace your walls and act as a fine art piece in your home. Your photos belong for loved ones to see and enjoy.

This in mind, I am previewing a beautiful couple I had the honor of documenting. In general, I like to photograph your radiant baby bump at around 33 weeks; this ensures you’re comfortable but also have a stylish and ever so endearing bump to show off. After all, your bump is the star and your pregnancy portraits celebrate all things graceful, feminine and ethereal about your pregnancy. Simple and Elegant Couples Maternity Session by Sarah Borchgrevink

Houston TX Maternity & Newborn Photographer | Natural Light and On Location Pregnancy Portraits for Expecting Couples and Families

Good morning on this cloudy Saturday! Thanks for stopping by my blog. If you have not been here before, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sarah, and I am full time Houston Photographer with a succinct focus on pregnancy and maternity portraits, newborn baby photography and outdoor family sessions. I encompass all milestones for Houston families and children, too. This in mind, today's post previews one of my stunning maternity clients! She is also scheduled for a custom newborn session, so I'm pretty excited to see her and her sweet husband in just a few short months.

For our time together, we met early in the morning, right at sunrise. We shot in Cypress Texas at a favorite location of mine. Early morning portraiture sessions are always some of my favorites simply because the light is soft. While evening light is lovely, too, morning sets a different tone. Her stunning gown looks fantastic against the green foilage. In Houston, our weather is warm most of the year (it does get into the 80's during the winter, haha) so her gown reflects her spring due date. 

For all of my maternity sessions, I encourage your spouse to participate. They are a huge part of your story and documenting the love between a couple expecting their first baby is truly extraordinary. Of course, if you have other children, too, they're welcome to participate as well. In that case, it's honestly a family session with emphasis on the baby bump. 

This sweet couple was wonderful to work with. They're kind, relaxed and kept me smiling the entire session. I loved hearing about their daily life, how they met, where they work and some of their favorite hobbies or past times. We chatted about their nursery, where she's delivering, and of course I asked about her sister, who's own maternity and newborn photos I documented. It's the biggest compliment when you refer your family or friends to my professional services. As a small busines owner, word of mouth is a huge part of our work!

One of my favorite aspects to their session are the leaves. Since we live in Houston, we don't really get a true autumn; but the wind was gentle that morning and softly flickered the leaves around them. They gently fell and just added a lovely texture to the rustic wooden bridge.
