Hey, you! Thanks for stopping my blog today! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sarah. I'm a mother to three sassy little girls, wife to an awesome dude, and also a chase of golden light, aka a photographer. Documenting squishy newborn babies, family milestones and radiant baby bumps truly makes me tick. There's nothing like spending the morning with an expecting couple or new family as we celebrate you. We're telling your story. Because that's what a portrait session at Sarah Borchgrevink Photography is: modern storytelling, crafted with love. For example, I proudly offer custom photography to Houston families, children and newborn babies. When this beautiful mother to be contacted me to book her natural, light outdoor maternity session and her posed newborn portraits, I was simply over the moon. These are my favorite to photograph! I designed a session showcasing ethereal golden light and all the love encompassing bringing home a new baby. We chose a location in Northwest Houston that features a natural setting; over hanging oak trees, flowers, and tall grass make for an organic and timeless feel. Here are some of my favorite images from my time with this sweet couple!

Mama is simply stunning! The golden light radiates around her and her baby bump is simply perfect. 

Of course, I always ensure there is plenty of time so you may change outfits if you prefer. While there is no pressure to do two different wardrobe looks, many mothers like to do so.

Greetings! Thank you for stopping by my blog! My name is Sarah, and I'm a Houston TX Photographer. I delight in photographing newborn babies, children, maternity for expecting couples and mothers to be, and of course outdoor, natural light family sessions. While all types of photography are gorgeous in their own way, there's something absolutely delightful about photographing a family. Perhaps it's because I'm a mama myself; the time of childhood is sacred and it's important to remember to document this time. Once a year is great. Plus, with Houston being so warm, you can generally shoot outdoors year around, though I do offer studio sessions as well.

Please allow me to introduce the beautiful M family. They have two precious little boys! This is my first time photographing them and it was wonderful meeting them. They're kind, sweet, warm and just truly fun to hang out with. All of my family sessions are super laid back, too. From the moment you inquire, I like for the process to be seamless. I provide a plethora of stunning outdoor locations for you to select from; I assist with outfit consults, and I ask you questions about your family and the dynamic you share in order to pose you to reflect who you are. 

For this session, they chose to do a sunset evening appointment. They also picked a Northwest Houston location right off Telge near 290. While Houston does not necessarily have autumnal colors such as red, gold, yellow, etc - we do at least have green foilage to provide a natural setting for your portrats. This ensures the images are timeless, beautiful and classic. 

During the session, I kept the posing fun and connected. I encourage you to interact with your kiddos and spouse. Play. Toss them in the air. Snuggle. Cuddle those sweet babies! They're only small for a short amount of time. In the blink of an eye they're growing and changing.

Good afternoon! On this chilly afternoon, at least for Houston, I am excited to preview a beautiful outdoor family session for you. Part of the joy in photographing families and children is simple: seeing you grow. For instance, please allow me to introduce you to the E family. They're long time clients of mine and every time I see them I walk away with a huge smile on my face. They're fun and just an absolute pleasure to be around. Down to earth. Laid back. Easy going. They make me laugh. Plus, their kids are cute as can be! I have done several sessions for them from cake smashes, in home family portraits, and newborn sessions. 

For our time together, we did a sunrise session in beautiful Cypress, TX! I love this location because the light filters ever so softly through the trees. Plus, early morning sessions are fantastic for little ones. They're often used to waking up early for school or daycare; so you wake up, head to the session, and then go have breakfast afterwards or some parents even go to the zoo. It's a fun way to start a day focused on family. When your kiddos are small, you truly will treasure the one on one time, especially as they age.

The little ones, as usual, are full of sass and personality! I could not stop chuckling during this set up. Mischievious grins. Beautfiful children. Soulful light. It does not get much better, huh?
